PIDC ALUMNI

From the very beginning, the graduates of the 1st and 2nd batches wanted to stay connected to their alma mater and each other. The strong bonds fostered within and between the initial batches over the 5 years of being together, created a sense of camaraderie unique only to any who have truly experienced the PIDC brand.

This was the basis that encouraged one’s lifelong relationship and of which the Alumni of PIDC was built upon. It was in this setting on the 31st of January 2012 that a small group of 12 graduates from the 1st and 2nd batch gathered to form the alumni and drafted its first constitution, under the influence and guidance of Dr. Raghu.

The first conference held in October 2013 was an impressive success against the odds. It was cautiously opened only to PIDC graduates and students.

Having invited prominent speakers over a 2-days conference was a feat many had not believed could happen. This inspired the next alumni committee to strive for a conference on a larger scale, this time opened to the public. In August 2014, the 2nd PIDC Alumni Conference was an even greater success held in Ixora Hotel, Butterworth, many prominent specialists from various fields of expertise were its highlight.

Fast forward to today and our young Alumni still thrives, its members making an impact in the world, from pursuing post graduate studies to establishing individual clinics.

As the Alumni grows larger and new graduates embark on their own careers, the importance of keeping this special kinship becomes more important.

A symbiotic relationship between a university and its alumni is key to building and maintaining the university’s reputation as well as the reputation of its graduates. With our efforts, the wheels of the Alumni of PIDC will continue to move forward and will no doubt gain the momentum it deserves for a long time to come.
